Summary

Assists offset press operators in the operation of presses to maintain quality and production, while learning processes and procedures to properly operate the equipment. This position receives direction from one or more press operators, and reports to the department manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Moves paper from warehouse and stages at relevant press;
  • Loads and operates paper feeder, and alerting operator to problems;
  • Maintains side guide and head stop register;
  • Services ink fountain to ensure continual flow of production, and preps fountain for subsequent shifts;
  • Mixes chemicals and ink when needed;
  • Cleans blankets and assists with changing blankets and plates;
  • Performs daily clean-up of press room;
  • Assists with maintenance and repair of press;
  • Observes press operation and notifies operator of problems;
  • Learns overall operation of press.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Basic printing knowledge;
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills;
  • Ability to read, comprehend and adhere to simple instructions;
  • Ability to write simple correspondence;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum one (1) to three (3) months related experience (including vocational training), preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking;
  • Must be able to perform work using stairs and catwalks;
  • Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel and crawl;
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs at one time;
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate equipment and make adjustments or repairs;
  • Must have visual acuity to operate equipment and monitor production.

The Account Manager is a seasoned printing professional who manages print jobs by addressing customer inquiries and eliminating obstacles to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. This position works with the sales representatives and reports to executive management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interacts in an office setting with internal and external customers via telephone, e-mail or face-to-face, to provide support and information on products and services;
  • Collects and interprets information from customers to facilitate estimating;
  • Enters orders for products or services;
  • Plans and draws layout of job;
  • Routes supplies and materials such as paste-ups, artwork, copy, film, or prints, to work areas to place job order into production;
  • Confers with customers throughout production to keep them informed of status of job, to solicit and resolve inquiries and complaints, to obtain approval of materials such as artwork, color separations (film for each primary color), ink samples, and proofs, and to procure information needed to process order;
  • Fields customer questions and concerns and ensures appropriate actions are taken, and when appropriate, alerts supervisor, sales and production to areas of concern;
  • Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries or comments;
  • Performs other duties as required.
